IS PHILOSOPHY A WAY OF LIFE ?

O QUE DEFENDEMOS E PROCURAMOS PRATICAR

There is strong evidence, both in the historical record and in the continuum of culture, wich suggests that philosophical traditions of antiquity were primarily concerned with ways of leading a good life, with understanding proper versus improper conduct of life, not only or the sake of solitary man but also for the sake of the family, the community, the state, and posterity.

Philosophy, as love of wisdom, meant inculcating and practicing virtues, identifying and eschewing vices, thinking thoughts and examining arguments for the sake of their applicability to life, and not only as intelectual exercises, wich sharpen the blades of mind but serve none of life`s knotty problems.
